教学过程：

Step 1 Brief introduction to this Unit

Step 2 Lead-in

Talk about the picture. What’s the man’s job? What does a tailor do? What is he doing at the moment? What’s he hitting them with?

Step 3 Reading

1.Fast reading: tick out the people and things which in the story

2.Put the actions of the tailor into correct order.

3.Read the first two paragraphs in pairs and then number the sentences on the

screen from memory

4.Read paragraphs 3&4 and find the answers to the exercises on the screen

5.Read th e rest of the paragraphs and find the answer to the exercises on the

screen

6.Follow the tape once and under line the useful expressions

7.Ask and answer the questions of 1.4 in pairs

Step 4 V ocabulary study

1.Tell the meaning of the listed expressions from the story

2.Translate some sentences into English using the expressions

3.Find the proper expression to complete the sentences

Step 5 Listening

1.Guess the ending of the story with the words given

2.Explain some new expressions.

3.Listen to the tape twice to do true or false.

4.Listen a third time to complete the text.

Step 6 Homework

1.Brief discussion on the ending. Do you like this ending?

2.Write your ending to the story, or make a picture story if you like.

3.Make one sentence with each of the listed ten expressions.
