►safety n．安全、安全性

①safety是由形容词safe加后缀­ty演变而来的。

②safety belt的意思是“安全带”。

►allow v．允许

常用的句型：

①allow sb.to do sth.允许某人做某事

②be allowed to do sth.被允许去做某事

③allow(doing)sth.允许(做)某事

►sixteen­year­olds

相当于一个名词，等同于sixteen­year­old children/teenagers。数词和一个相应的名词单数用“－”连接起来，构成合成形容词。
