"I'm sorry, but I don't want to be an emperor. That's not my business. I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible - Jew, Gentile - black man - white. 遗憾得很，我并不想当皇帝，那不是我干的行当。我既不想统治任何人，也不想征服任何人。如果可能的话，我倒挺想帮助所有的人，不论是犹太人还是非犹太人，是黑种人还是白种人。

We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other's happiness - not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there's room for everyone and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone.

我们都要互相帮助。做人就是应当如此。我们要把生活建筑在别人的幸福上，而不是建筑在别人的痛苦上。我们不要彼此仇恨，互相鄙视。这个世界上有足够的地方让所有的人生活。大地是富饶的，是可以使每一个人都丰衣足食的。

The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned men's souls - has barricaded the world with hate - has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical; our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little.
