INTRODUCTION

On account of the special mulching film planting mode for cotton planting in Xinjiang region of China, lots of plastic film will mix in cotton in the process of mechanical harvest, which generates the content of heterologous fiber exceeding the standard severely, makes the quality grade of product decline, and is one of the main factors that make mechanical plucking unginned cotton unsalable.

Research on the international

In other countries, research on detecting and cleaning of unginned cotton is limited and a mass spectrometer is applied to detect qualitatively and quantificationally and to clean mainly in America. However, this system requires high reliability, reaction speed and great resettability. In addition, the cost of this system is pretty high. So this system is not suitable for cotton processing plant in China

Research direction

In order to improve the performance of the plastic film separator for mechanical plucking unginned cotton, and find out the optimal combination of influential factors that affect the performance of the separator, the CFD numerical simulation method was adopted. The effects of separator with different parameters were simulated and analyzed, and the working parameters of this machine were enforced optimization experimental study which used the orthogonal test method and was based on the influence factors including skew barrel’s angle, big netty roller’s rotate speed, skew barrel’s entrance air speed and netty roller axis’s horizontal included angle.To find out the best parameters.

Verification of test results

From the analysis of experimental result data, the maximum, minimum and mean of isolation rate of plastic film were 94.73 %, 88.23 % and 90.52 %. The maximum, minimum and mean of brought-out rate of unginned cotton were 1.15, 0.7 and 0.91. According to the testification of experiment, the performance indexes got from the optimal combination of factors were approximate with the optimized results. That is, the optimal combination could meet the demand of the isolation performance of plastic film.

CONCLUSION

This article took skew barrel’s angle, big netty roller’s rotate speed, skew barrel’s entrance air speed, and netty roller axis’s horizontal included angle as influential factors, and took isolation rate of plastic film and brought-out rate of unginned cotton as the indexes of isolation performance of plastic film, and used Fluent to simulate and analyze the working parameters of plastic film separator for mechanical plucking unginned cotton. Orthogonal tests were conducted on the testbed for plastic film’s separation performance of mechanical plucking unginned cotton in order to find the optimal index combination of plastic film’s isolation of unginned cotton.
