1.In China, you can sometimes see people playing basketball in parks,

schools and even in factories.

☺see sb doing 看到某人正在做某事

I saw him playing basket on the playground.

☺see sb do 强调动作全过程(do 是省略to的不定式)

I saw him go into that room.

如果变为被动to不省略

He was seen to go into that room.

☺see sb done 表宾语和动词之间是被动的关系。

I saw him tied to a tree yesterday.

我昨天看见他被绑在一棵树上了。

此类词还有:see, watch, look at, observe, hear, listen to, feel

2. Dr. Naismith divided the men in his class into two

teams and taught them to play his new game.

☺divide...into 把...分成....

☺teach sb. to do sth. 叫某人做某事

3. At the same time, they need to stop the competing

team from getting the ball into their own basket.

☺at the same time=meanwhile=meantime 同时

☺stop/keep/prevent...from sth./doing sth.

阻止....(做)某事

eg. Breaking up can stop us from quarrelling.

☺the number of+可数名词复数 .的数量是...(单数)

eg. The number of students is about twenty.

☺a number of+可名复=many+可名复(表复数)

☺including sb./sth.

sb./sth. included

eg. There are 40 students in the classroom, including me.

5. These stars encourage young people to work hard to

achieve their dreams.

☺encourage sb. to do sth.

☺achieve one's dream=realize one's dream
