饼图 (Pie Chart)

The two pie charts above show the energy use in the United States and the residential energy use respectively.

From the first pie, we can see clearly that the American energy consumption is divided into four major parts, namely, industry, transportation, residential and commercial. Industry consumes the largest portion, which accounts for 41%. Transportation____________________________________________________________ _____________________________ The residential use and commercial use are 19% and 14% respectively.

The second pie illustrates the situation of energy consumption in the part of residential use. It is obvious that the heating and air conditioning is on the top, 62% of energy is used for them. 15% of energy is consumed for heating water. Small appliances account for only 10%. The remaining 13% goes to miscellaneous items such as cooking.

To conclude, from the above two pie charts, we may have both a macro and a micro understanding of the fact of American energy consumption. (155 words)
