Abstract
Reading class is always paid the most attention to in English Teaching.
Though teachers have spent plenty of time and energy in English- reading
teaching, the situation of students' reading performance and reading
comprehension are not satisfactory.
In the practice of the English-reading teaching in the middle school, the
author realized that the crux of the cultivation of the reading capacity lies in
the guidance of the teacher as well as the students' reading and practice, that
is, the students should go through independent reading practices under the
instruction of the teacher, a comprehensive drill based on the purpose of
application should be strengthened, so as to realize the goal of
English-reading teaching ---- emphasizing particularly on the building of
students' reading capacity. The task-based teaching advocated in "English
Curriculum Standards" has a positive effect on the realization of the
transforming the teaching mode from the teacher-centered one to a
student-oriented one. Hence, how to use the task-based approach to
cultivate students comprehention ability is worth exploring.
Task-based reading-teaching is feasible and effective,in which the
students are less dependent on teacher. In reading class, they are more active
in reading, and gain more interest in English reading, at the same time,they
also have more confidence in learning English well.
