水稻是一种短日植物1农业科学界已经在水稻中找到了几个与开花有关的基因位点,并且找出了三个基因,其中两个是与CO和FT同源的,另一个是用来编码酪蛋白激酶II(CK2)的亚单位1在拟南芥中,CK2是一个与生物钟相关的并且是在它超表达情况下还可以缩短光周期长度的因子1从这些结果我们可以得出了一个结论:生物钟在光周期控制开花过程中起到关键的作用1然而这也给我们提出了一个新的问题:这些相同的基因是如何同时调控长日植物(拟南芥)和短日植物(水稻)开花的?这也是我们需要解决的问题1
